What You'll Work On in Level 1
1. Lead & Follow Physics
Learn how movement direction is signaled through frame connection, weight transfer cues, and spatial awareness rather than pulling or pushing.
2. Salsa On2 Timing & Shines
Internalize the clave and tumbao rhythm so your feet lock naturally into the 2 and 6 beat without counting out loud.
3. Bachata Sensual & Dominican Elements
Develop body isolations, hip movement mechanics, syncopated footwork, and fluid turn combinations.
4. Social Dance Adaptability
Dance confidently with partners of any experience level without getting flustered when a turn breaks down.
Level 1 Questions, Answered
I know my basic steps but feel stuck — is Level 1 right for me?+
Yes. Level 1 is built for dancers who know the basic step and a right turn but want to stop overthinking combinations, feel timing instinctively and dance smoothly with any partner. We turn pattern memorization into fluid partner communication.
What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2?+
Level 1 develops clean lead and follow, On2 timing internalization and social dance adaptability. Level 2 refines high-speed spins, complex syncopations, musicality and personal expression. Level 1 is the bridge from basics to advanced.
Do I need to audition for Level 1 classes?+
No audition is required for Level 1. Auditions are only for the elite performance and competition teams. Level 1 classes are open — just pick a day and book.
How many classes per week should I take?+
Most Level 1 students train 2 to 3 times per week for steady growth. You can book a single class above, or explore our memberships (Foundation, Signature and Mastery) on the pricing page if you want to come regularly.
